About the Centre for Social Innovation
The Centre for Social Innovation(CSI) is a hub for Toronto’s social mission sector – a place where social innovators and entrepreneurs come together to ignite and advance new ideas that can, and are, changing the world! We do this by creating and offering shared workspace, shared services, innovative programming and incubation support to social innovators and their projects. CSI creates the conditions for social innovation emergence.

The Program Manager (boring title – invent your own) will develop and lead CSI's programming activities. CSI runs several programs designed to animate and support its own members and the broader social mission community. The Program Manager will oversee the design and delivery of current programs and projects (including the Enterprising Nonprofits Program) and will conceive and launch new programs that advance CSI's mission.

- Are you a project management control freak that really owns an event/program?

- Have you run a social enterprise? Do you have any idea what this term really means?
- Are you charming? Can you hold people's attention and convince them of great things?
We want to work with fun, engaged and professional people who take tremendous pride in their work and want to make social change too.... is this you?
Practically, the Work Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the CSI’s programming vision
- Facilitate the involvement of many others in program development
- Undertake partnership development with thought leaders, partners and community
- Administer and deliver the programming seamlessly
- Conceive new, revenue-generating programs that advance Toronto’s social mission sector
- Liaise with tenants, funders and partners
- Write grant applications and fundraise from time to time
- Organize events – a bunch of them
- Deliver the ENP-Toronto 2009 Program www.socialinnovation.ca/enterprisingnonprofits
- Liaise with funders
- Plan and deliver social enterprise skills training workshops
- Support funding applicants
- Whatever else is needed to make CSI rock
The Fun Responsibilities:
- Invent new programs for social change
- Connect people and ideas
- Animate CSI's internal and external communities
- Help make change happen
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with and interest in social enterprise
- Familiarity with and interest in social innovation
- Project management skills
- Presentation skills
- Fund raising skills
- Capacity to handle a million things
- Enthusiasm and energy
- Sound judgment and comfort working autonomously
- A low-stress attitude in a complex environment
- Willingness to do whatever it takes…Zero attitude!!
You must also have a great sense of humour – seriously, you will need a great sense of humour because inevitably something will go wrong.
