CSI launches new social enterprise funding program!

We are thrilled to officially confirm that the Centre for Social Innovation is launching ENP-Toronto - a local pilot of British Columbia's successful Enterprising Non-Profits Program. We have been working hard over the past six months to plan for this initiative and couldn't be happier for how it has come together. We're really excited for two main reasons...

First, CSI has been working hard to build a stronger "ecosystem of support" for social enterprise here in Toronto. Other than the Toronto Enterprise Fund, there is currently no support for social enterprise in this city. Given the size of the nonprofit sector and the untapped creative and entrepreneurial energy that it contains, it is way past time to start providing support that will stimulate social enterprise. So this is an exciting first step. It not only demonstrates CSI's commitment to this emerging sector but it also has a budget attached - up to $65,000 in funding that we can share across the sector to begin really making a difference.

Second, we are especially pleased by the diverse and committed group of funders who have come together to make ENP-Toronto a reality. Private sector organizations and nonprofit sector organizations have come together to demonstrate their commitment to social enterprise and their willingness to embark on a ‘learning journey' of sorts...together, we will begin to better understand this sector and how we can foster its growth.
