Tides Canada announces Top Ten Charities for 2007

Every year, Tides Canada selects ten nonprofits and charities who deserve national recognition for their important work. The Centre for Social Innovation is especially pleased to report that Tides Canada's Top Ten for 2007 includes two CSI members: Forest Ethics and the Sustainability Network. We're thrilled to be associated with two amazing groups whose positive environmental impact has met Tides criteria.

I was especially struck by the following:

"This year's Top Ten charities give true meaning to the phrase: making a difference in the world. They effectively address the root causes of complex environmental and social problems, not just the symptoms. This demands innovation, strategic thinking, passion, skill, and cooperation. Their smart ideas and actions are leveraging enormous outcomes that benefit us all."
