Sandbox Series: Deep Democracy

As a variety of elections - municipal, provincial, and federal - start to loom once more, we begin to think about the democratic processes in place to help us choose our leaders and thus our collective future. The main principle behind democracy is based on the premise that it is only a fair process if everyone has the equal right to voice themselves and then the majority will decide which path we go down on. It is a collective process and is thought to be the process of "the people". But what if "the people" are no longer participating in the process?

Our next Sandbox session on October 27th will look deep into understanding the root causes of democratic disengagement. Please join special guest Julie Diamond for a provocative presentation and shared imagining of a society where everyone has agency. The session will offer some tantalizing possibilities of how to evolve our system at the level of consciousness that created it.

For more information and to register, please go to: http://socialinnovation.ca/sandbox. It is $20 for General Public, $10 for CSI Members, and if needed, a sliding scale is also available.
