Bikes Without Borders

Bikes Without Borders is a Toronto-based non-profit that uses bikes and bike-related solutions as a tool for development in marginalized communities. We currently have a project in Malawi supplying bikes to HIV/AIDS workers and are launching projects in Latin America in 2009.

Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists - Ontario Chapter (CADA-ON)

Empowering and educating dance professionals in the promotion of the art of dance

CADA-ON is a non-profit organization that empowers and educates its membership of dance professionals to promote the art form in society. It was formed in 1986 in response to impending Status of the Artist Legislation in Canada and incorporated in the Province of Ontario in 1995.

Introducing Heliotrope

Chris Lowry introduced us to Heliotrope’s founder, Howard Esbin, two years ago. From the start, we were struck by the tremendous potential of a group learning game Howard was piloting with community agencies and schools. Prelude helps fosters self-knowledge, creative thinking, and collaborative skills, Players express what they learn individually, in teams, and as a group in a highly engaging process. Artefacts produced during the game also become invaluable additions for life-career portfolios.

Ontario EcoSchools

Ontario EcoSchools is an environmental education program for grades 1-12 that helps students develop ecological literacy while engaged in practices to become environmentally responsible citizens. Developed and run by school boards, Ontario EcoSchools also helps improve school building operations to reduce environmental impacts.

Heliotrope

A Prelude to Learning

The sunflower is an example of a heliotrope - a plant that turns toward the sun throughout the day. It's this phenomenon from which Heliotrope derives its inspiration. Heliotrope has created Prelude - a suite of learning games designed for use in schools, social agencies, workplace training, and community development - that help players establish positive self and group images that become the guide for future development. Heliotrope's Prelude is a truly innovative way to catalyze self-discovery, wellbeing, team building, and appreciation for interdependency.
