Connection at the coffee stand

One of the best things about CSI is the sheer number of wonderful and diverse organizations here. This makes it possible to network and for meaningful connections to form naturally everyday.

Small example here:

When I said hello to Jo, the Program Director of Operation Groundswell at the coffee stand, I could never have guessed that I would be leading a trip for them to India/Nepal for the Summer of 2012. I had only asked what she was up to. As it turned out, right prior to coming for her coffee, Jo and the OG team had been discussing their trip to India. Someone had just suggested including Nepal, but they would have to find a suitable trip leader. It was quite the coincidence for us to meet right then and that I happen to be fluent in both Hindi & Nepali. I absolutely loved what they stood for and wished to be a part of it. Jo went back to her table and told her team that she had found her India/Nepal trip leader!

An idea was fulfilled over a trip to the coffee stand! That is quite a story, isn't it? I am sure everyone has similar stories to share. We would love to hear them.
