My Canada Conserves!

Canada Conserves is up and running -- a new initiative to promote conservation and conservation leadership across Canada.

Conservation (defined as "using less and living better") is an age-old and deep cultural value that is finding new expression throughout our society and economy.  Probably all you CSIers are active conservers both in your personal life and your professions!

Note: if your organization is "green", "sustainable", "eco", "enviro" or anything similar, not to worry.  What we are looking at is the common goal of shifting our society and economy onto a path of sustainable consumption married with a better quality of life.  Use less + live better.

First on our agenda is a review of all provincial and federal green strategies.  You'll find an overview of the existing strategies on the website, http://www.canadaconserves.ca and I am working on the preliminary assessment.  No surprise, there is a mish-mash of green, sustainable, and climate strategies across the provinces, but there are also some interesting insights emerging.  Stay tuned...
