CSI Reporter - cover the social innovation beat at CSI (Work Exchange)
Are you a great writer with an interest in social innovation? A journalist and storyteller? Want to contribute and grow your talents while becoming part of one of the world’s most active communities of social entrepreneurs and innovators?
The Centre for Social Innovation is a coworking space, community and launchpad for people who are changing the world, with three locations in Toronto and a location in New York City. We provide our members with the tools they need to accelerate their success and amplify their impact. Together, we’re building a movement of nonprofits, for-profits, entrepreneurs, artists, and activists working across sectors from farming to finance and everything in between. We’re catalyzing new ideas for a better world.
CSI is looking for a scribe to help cover the CSI beat in Toronto and the amazing work of our members! The CSI Reporter will need to embed themselves in the CSI community to unearth compelling stories. These stories will be published on our website, social media, newsletter, and our publication The Collider, and may be pitched to the media. See examples of stories here.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the world’s most dynamic communities of changemakers. In exchange for their work, the CSI Reporter will get unlimited access to Hot Desk space and all the benefits of CSI, have a profile on our Intranet network, have their work published, and flesh out their portfolio! This is an ideal position for someone who can benefit from workspace at CSI and being a part of the community.
The position is flexible and requires around 4-8 hours a week, with the goal of producing one to two stories per month. The CSI Reporter will work with the Toronto-based Communications Lead.
CSI expects professionalism and commitment to the position. The candidate must commit to a minimum of 3 months working with CSI. Please only apply if you are ready and capable of making the commitment.
Interested candidates should send a short letter explaining their interest in the exchange and links to past work to Barnabe Geis, the Communications Lead, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please put CSI REPORTER in the subject line. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. Thanks for your interest and have an awesome day!
