Agatha Podgorski

Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance

Agatha is an aspiring food philosopher. She believes in local food, responsible purchasing practices and the health benefits of a glass of good Merlot. She once considered law school, but after a stint studying journalism and later completing a literature & developmental politics degree at the University of Toronto, she realized she would much rather eat than be eaten. A quick 180 later, she now holds a diploma in Culinary Management from George Brown College. She has worked in Toronto kitchens for years, but is trading in her spoons to spread the word about Ontario’s amazing food experiences. Agatha has been lucky, and can now be found managing all manor of projects at The Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance. She spends her days researching, looking for the best this amazing province has to offer. Recently, she was celebrated as one of the province’s Top 30 Under 30 by The Ontario Hostelry Institute. Currently, she calls Kensington Market in Toronto home; where she shares an apartment with her bearded, brilliant, math-magician partner. She is also an avid photographer, eater and traveller. She has studied in Brno, biked across Ireland, baguette’d in Bordeaux and boiled lobsters in Cape Cod. All in all, she loves Ontario though, and has been known to drive all the way to Kingston for a good black currant scone.
