Centre for Social Innovation - Where Change Happens!

CADA-ON is a non-profit organization that empowers and educates its membership of dance professionals to promote the art form in society. It was formed in 1986 in response to impending Status of the Artist Legislation in Canada and incorporated in the Province of Ontario in 1995.

Its membership categories include Dance Students, Emerging Artists, Professional Artists, Retired Professionals and Associates. CADA-ON first published The Professional Standards for Dance in March 2003 and a revised Appendix B: Fees and Payment was published in 2008.

CADA-ONs Professional Standards for Dance and programs reflect a holistic dance community where an artist's roles may encompass employer, employee or member of a collective - an alternative to the traditional labour/management model. To achieve its goals, CADA-ON collaborates with many other organizations.
