Can-Nica Partnership for Community Development
Casa Canadiense was founded in 1992 to promote a sense of community and solidarity between Canadians and Nicaraguans. The "Casa" as it is warmly referred to, is both a physical place in Managua, Nicaragua and an Ontario-based volunteer organization. Casa Canadiense facilitates solidarity connections between Canadians and Nicaraguans, providing work-study trip coordination, orientation and accommodation in Managua, a resource centre and funding for small education-focused projects. Primarily volunteer run in Canada, the Casa has two Canadian and two Nicaraguan employees in Nicaragua who manage the centre and work with local communities on a daily basis.
