Centre for Social Innovation
Events Coordinator and Community Membership Animator Erin’s parents owned a restaurant for most of her childhood, and at the age of eleven she was thrown into the world of customer service—now part and parcel of all she does. She enjoys exploring Toronto’s lesser-known corners—her background in Urban Studies, Geography and History come in handy. Her interests center around community development, bottom-up approaches to change-making, and how people, spaces and politics interact in the urban arena. She hopes to live a life ripe with challenges to forever build her strength in tackling them to the ground. A brief rendezvous in Europe opened her eyes to a whole other world of city-building and community development. Recently Erin has rediscovered her coveted creative side and has started her own jewellery line, Night Owl Jewellery. "You never know what worse luck your bad luck has saved you from." - Cormac McCarthy
Why I do what I do:
As the Events Coordinator, nothing could excite me more than supporting our members and social innovators by helping them hold spectacular events at CSI. Events can be integral to creating new partnerships, forging business/idea/venture collaborations, and communicating your world-changing endeavours to the whole world. As the Community Membership Animator, I hope to work with the CSI team to engage with social innovators outside of the Centre for Social Innovation, pull them into the mesmerizing world that is CSI, and spark even more collaboration, systems-change, and address the pressing issues we face together.
