Nicole Swerhun, BSc, MBA, designs and delivers multi-stakeholder decision making processes.  She works for towns and cities across the GTA, the US, and internationally to help build relationships between leaders and the constituencies they serve. Her services include strategic planning, public engagement, communications, and consultation. In particular, she focuses on getting the public, key stakeholders and public sector decision makers the information they need to provide good advice and make informed decisions. Nicole has been doing this work for over 14 years, and is respected for her ability to make complex, often controversial and high profile projects constructive and manageable. 

Highlights of her project work include:

3 years in post-Katrina New Orleans keeping 3000+ residents connected to the rebuilding of the Lafitte community (2006-2009);

3 years in Tuzla, Bosnia helping design and deliver the first public consultation following the Dayton Peace Accord (2002-2005);

Serving as the neutral community facilitator for the City of Hamilton’s Red Hill Valley Project (2003-2004);

Working with cities and public agencies across the Greater Toronto Area (e.g. Metrolinx, Build Toronto, Toronto Lands Corporation, Toronto District School Board, Toronto & Region Conservation Authority, Waterfront Toronto, and the City of Toronto, Town of Oakville, City of Hamilton, Region of Waterloo, City of Pickering, etc.) on city-building projects addressing everything from keeping pools open in public schools to revitalization of Toronto's waterfront; and

Working in cities across the US (Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Willoughby, Norfolk, Boca Raton, New Orleans) to design and facilitate public engagement in land use decisions and public asset management.
