Filth
a queer research-action project
The research component of this endeavor has involved scouring the net and interrogating friends to locate any organizations/groups/collectives/covens/... that look after the bodies, minds and souls of queers in this town. I'm interested in groups ranging from mainstream organizations that provide base-level support like healthcare, counseling and legal aid all the way down to scrappy groups of friends that make weird art together and talk about their feelings. I'm not sure what the action phase will involve, as the research has not yielded much in the way of results so far. I'm anticipating a zine cataloging my process and findings as well as a blog to make these more accessible. I'm essentially trying to find a way to translate queer organizing as i know it into Torontonian and am eager to see what that might look like.
