CSI FOOD CONSTELLATION MONTHLY MEETING
OPEN CALL: New members welcome.
Food culture. Food entrepreneurship. Creating innovative food systems change.
We are group of food innovators including farmers, researchers, consultants, community organizers, market coordinators, food producers, caterers, bakers, restauranteurs and more. Our common interest is to build capacity in the Good Food sector to enable people with great food ideas to help their programs, businesses and projects to thrive.
We meet once monthly to network and to collaborate on programs of mutual benefit.
We are currently working on a number of exciting initiatives and would love to invite new members to join us in helping to build capacity in the Good Food sector. The three projects currently underway are:
1) The Hot Kitchen Collective: building a network of rentable commercial kitchens in the city of Toronto.
2) Professional Development for the Good Food Sector: setting a series of talks and consulting sessions for food start-ups and business and the consultants catering to the Good Food sector in Toronto.
3) Good Food Sector Website and Wiki: setting up a website repository for information of benefit to businesses and non-profit organizations working in food in Toronto.
We're open to new members and working on exciting ways to make our collaborations fruitful.
Every meeting a business or an organization presents a 7 minute pitch to the group. So far, we've had pitches from a raw and vegan food producer, a nut producer, a supper club cum corner store cum café entrepreneur and a food lawyer. If you'd like to pitch your product or organization to the group, please contact us. The person pitching also brings samples for the group to taste or a snack related to the pitch.
The CSI Food Constellation is convened by Aruna Handa, Mike Paduada and Tonya Surman.
