What is a security fob?
Security fobs are the magnetic passkeys issued to all tenants and staff. Fobs take about 24 - 48 hours to activate.
Where does my security fob grant me access?
Your fob will provide you with 24/7 access to the building, elevator, office area, green roof, basement, and behind the glass workspace on the 4th floor.
Note that before 8am and after 7pm, you must use your security fob to get up to the 4th floor using the 4R button.
What if I want to come in outside regular office hours?
No problem! Your security fob will allow you access at any time but it is crucial that all tenants know their personal security code is and how to activate/deactivate the alarm system. Additionally, depending on the suite, it may require a key to get in through the main doors which you may not have, so please ask a CA for assistance the first time.
Who is responsible for turning on and off the alarm?
We are all responsible for the security of our shared workspace. If you are the first in, you will need to deactivate the alarm; if you are last out, you will need to turn the lights off, lock the door, and activate the alarm.
How do I arm the alarm system?
1. Make sure that the space is empty
2. Turn off the lights
3. Punch in your 4 digit code (no star, pound, or enter required - just the 4 digits)
4. The screen will prompt you to press 0, so press 0 (the red light should come on to indicate the alarm is on and begin a 90-second countdown)
Don't panic if you get it wrong, press # sign and then re-enter the correct code.
5. Exit the space
6. Remember to manually lock the main door next to the elevators before leaving
To deactivate the system:
1. Enter your 4-digit code (the green light should come on to indicate that the alarm is off).

Why does the alarm turn itself on after midnight?
As a security feature, the alarm system will automatically set itself at midnight. You will hear the system start chirping/ringing at midnight as it starts its 90-second countdown till being set. You have those 90 seconds to jump over to the alarm system and enter your 4-digit code to avoid setting off the alarm. This will disable this function so that you may continue to work in peace.
However, if you are the last person in the space it is very important that you do set the alarm on your way out. Additionally, even if you leave the space before midnight, you must set the alarm as there can be a break-in between the time that you leave and the automatic midnight lock. Without the security system (and people), the space can become vulnerable so we must share the responsibility in keeping it safe!
What do I do if there is a building emergency?
If there is a building emergency (break-ins, flooding, etc.) during work hours tenants need to alert a Community Animator.
If there are any after-hours building emergencies, please contact building security via their 24/7 cell number: 647-668-5511. However, please note that they are not CSI staff and therefore will not be able to assist in matters that are non-building related.
