Architecture & Design Writer

As a writer, editor, and researcher, I help design professionals communicate their ideas. I’ve worked with architects, landscape architects and scholars on many types of research and writing, from project and grant proposals to book-length texts. I also write for magazines including Azure and Canadian Architect. I attended architecture school at the University of Waterloo and McGill University, and am completing a doctorate in architectural history at Columbia University in New York. From interning in architecture offices, I have first-hand experience working with complex design concepts. As a historian, I’m savvy in conducting in-depth research on architecture and design topics. My doctoral dissertation examines wilderness ideals and landscape tourism in the Canadian West, and has allowed me to develop expertise on North American history, environmental philosophy, and the complex issues that link the built and natural worlds. I'm interested in new collaborations with socially innovative organizations. My writing skills and research expertise would be especially valuable to organizations or projects that are concerned with architecture, design, sustainability, and/or the urban environment.
