Global Corporate Challenge/Global Children's Challenge

The Global Corporate Challenge (GCC) and the Global Children's Challenge (GCC Junior) are the world's largest walking events. Our mission is literally to "get the world moving." We address the sedentary lifestyles and longer working hours for adults. We address the cuts to physical education and increased obesity rates for children. We challenge teams and classrooms to walk/run/cycle/swim/garden/ballroom dance/karate/yoga (anything!) their way "around the world" in 16 weeks. The goal is 10,000 steps a day for 111 days, but the more active they are, the further their team/classroom goes. We bring this virtual "travel journey" alive through an award-winning website that shows teams pictures of their location, local time, weather, news, and includes a fun, socially-relevant description of the place and country. On top of that, you are united with people from around the world all doing the same route at the exact same time. Last year 100,000 people from 65 countries took part from May until September.
