Riff 'N' Reel Submission

Interested in hosting a Riff 'N' Reel screening? Use the form below to tell us about your movie and how you envision the post-screening dialogue.

Riff 'N' Reel is our weekly (Wednesdays from 12 to 1 pm) movie screening and dialogue, focusing on social innovation themes. Here are some of the criteria:

LENGTH: 10-40 minutes (total time allotted for movie and discussion is one hour)

THEME: In a nutshell, you should be able to answer the question "How will this help further the conversation around social innovation and help us create the world we want?"

The focus should be on new solutions and ideas, not simply exposing problems in the world. For example, a movie that showcases environmental destruction in our oceans - while great for increasing awareness around the issue - does not do much to further the discussion around what to do about degradation of our oceans.

But a movie that showcases how a community learned how to sustainably manage their previously mismanaged fishery adds meaning to the dialogue (the word dialogue, after all, signifies 'flow of meaning'), and can help spark new ideas, methods and models.

FORMAT: We can work with DVDs or online movies.

How do you envision the post-screening dialogue taking place? Do you want us to lead the discussion, or will you host it yourself? Will you bring in a guest speaker? What's the theme? How will you create a 2-way discussion (we don't want a speaker simply speaking about the movie and not inviting or creating an atmosphere for dialogue)?
