This workshop will explore how environmental NGOs can expand networks and engage new audiences by fostering connections with ethnic media. Special guests from ethnic media outlets will be on hand to provide participants with tips on how to get environmental stories in the news and insights on the interests of their viewers, readers and listeners.
Examples of outreach materials, writing style and environmental "lingo" will be also be
examined: what works and what doesn't? How can we make small changes in the way we communicate what we do that will result in more inclusive, welcoming organization? Join us to find out!
The workshop will be facilitated by Nidhi Tandon of Networked Intelligence for Development
(http://www.networkedintelligence.com/) and Kathleen Padulo from Generation Seven Consulting (http://generationseven.com/).
Morning refreshments and a light lunch will be served.
