Reporting to: Senior Program Manager, Adopting Common Measures

Employment Type: Fixed Term, ending May 30th, 2024

Work hours/days: (Full – Time 37.5h/week)

Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus benefits after probation period

By bringing awareness to the SDGs and supporting organizations to track their impact through CSI’s Impact Dashboard, Adopting Common Measures takes critical steps to understanding our collective impact. 

We need you, a talented and experienced Communications and Client Engagement and Support Coordinator, who brings organizational skills, foresight and motivation to support organizations to track their impact towards the SDGs. 


About the Role

You are first and foremost a patient people person and first-rate communicator and facilitator, feeling comfortable helping troubleshoot problems, explaining complex topics using clear language and facilitating engaging workshops with the goal of drawing people out of their comfort zone and committing to something new and exciting.

You have a passion for the UN Sustainable Development Goals and impact measurement.  As Communications and Client Engagement and Support Coordinator you will concentrate on the Adopting Common Measures communications deliverables and track and support Social Purpose Organizations on their Impact journey.  The project goals are to promote awareness of the SDG’s and support organizations to track their impact towards SDG #2, #3, and #8. This project is national in scope.


Key Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with the CSI animators (community engagement) to engage, educate and onboard CSI members onto the Impact Dashboard and provide Dashboard client support.
  • You will work closely with  CSI’s teams including CSI’s programs, communications, and the Impact Dashboard, to engage and educate CSI’s membership on social impact tracking and measurement.
  • You will engage directly with CSI membership and promote the Common Approach to Impact Measurement and SDGs related to SDG #2, #3, and #8 all the while supporting them on their impact journey.
  • You will support the Communities of Practice with facilitation and development of workshop materials.
  • You will coordinate the provision of stories and narratives that highlight the impact measurement journey of Social Purpose Organizations across Canada.
  • You will develop online marketing materials for the CSI newsletter about the 2030 Agenda and Adopting Common Measures Project
  • You will conduct outreach and engagement of regional networks across Canada 
  • You will coordinate the provision of stories and narratives that highlight the impact measurement journey of Social Purpose Organizations across Canada.
  • You will aid in the provision of resources, tools and educational materials directly related to helping SPOs and the Communities of Practice on their impact journey
  • You will oversee and develop communication program deliverables including monitoring, updating and revising the national communications campaign as needed 
  • You will coordinate the project’s national communication strategy to achieve the project deliverables 
  • You are flexible with a high degree of skill in working with teams to meet shared goals and objectives while achieving the desired outcomes of the program 


Qualifications and Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in the following areas: 
    • Community engagement, recruitment and support 
    • Online facilitation using group tools eg. Miro
    • Developing a wide range of marketing materials in digital and hard copy
    • Social media marketing: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram 
    • Digital media savvy creating/editing written and visual content
  • Demonstrated active knowledge of the following: 
    • Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals and 2030 Agenda
    • Experience in project based communications with external partnerships and internal teams  
    • High level of organizational skills 
    • Experience with multi stakeholder project design and delivery 
    • It is beneficial to have knowledge of impact measurement and the landscape of social purpose organizations in Canada related to the Sustainable Development Goals 


Working amidst COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, most of our staff have been working from home. Interviews will take place virtually over phone and video conference. We expect the start date of the selected candidate to be before our office re-opens. As such, the successful candidate will be expected to work remotely from a home office with reliable internet service.
