About the Role

Advancing a circular economy requires big, bold action. To advance our goal to educate and empower Canadians from coast to coast to coast on the environmental, social, and economic benefits of the circular economy, we are undertaking a bold expansion of our education and engagement programming. To support this expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to join us in the planning, implementation, and communications of this momentous program transformation.

The Resource Development and Outreach Co–Ordinator will be responsible for executing social media strategies, new resource development, and stakeholder engagement for the various programs that fall under our expanding education and engagement programming. Some of these programs include Waste Reduction Week in Canada, Ontario Green Screen, and the Plastic Action Centre.

We are looking for a creative person who is excited to engage with schools, communities, organizations, and civil society across Canada to promote the mission and mandate of our organization. This person will bring their ideas and enthusiasm to develop new resources and communication tactics that support the expansion of our education and engagement programming.


  • Develop and deliver outreach activities including:
  • Execute social media strategies.
  • Website management and updates to keep content fresh, relevant, and exciting.
  • Prepare outreach emails, newsletters, and other direct engagement material.
  • Respond to inquiries and questions regarding our programs.
  • Develop new resource materials including infographics, fact sheets, and other interesting educational material.
  • Support the planning and administration of stakeholder meetings.
  • Compile and analyze each program’s key performance indicators (website traffic, social media engagement, program participation, etc.)
  • Contribute to the growth and expansion of each of our education programs by providing strategic ideas to increase engagement (new social media campaigns, resources, webinars, etc.)
  • Support program fundraising, including writing grant proposals.
  • Organize, manage, and expand stakeholder contact lists.

Experience and Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience working in community engagement (communications, public relations, or education).
  • Professional and/or educational experience in environmental studies, sustainability or the circular economy.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Graphic design experience and proficient with Adobe Creative Suite design software (specifically InDesign and Illustrator).
  • Experience with website content management systems (WordPress, Drupal).
  • Can work independently and is a self-starter.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Bilingualism in French an asset.

Position Details

We are a national organization that operates remotely. We welcome applicants from across Canada.

Salary is competitive with experience and includes a benefits package. This position is a full time 12-month contract with opportunity for renewal. Start date: May/June 2022
