Position Description

As a Service Development & Project Management Assistant at Voice of Purpose you will play a key role in helping to uplift and steward positive transformation in the community arts sector. The first project you will be engaging in with us is ‘Engaging Artists in Digital Learning Environments’, a research project spanning across Canada and the US.

This is a community oriented, hands-on leadership and support position. As part of the team of Voice of Purpose, our intention is for the person in this role to grow with the organization. We center in on the path of purpose and journey of transformation as core orientations, not just in what we offer to the world, but what we embody internally as individuals within a collective.

This person will become right hand support to the Director of Digital Strategy & Organizational Development, Nate Gerber – who provides leadership and implementation for the organization’s strategic development and its digital solutions. The Service Development and Project Management Assistant will be responsible for supporting insight management, systems configuration and strategic coordination across the end to end service development lifecycle. This includes: strategy, solution design and systems development, implementation, deployment, validation, maintenance, monitoring, evaluation and change. Our 2022 core services portfolio includes research, web publishing services, community platforms, online education offerings, marketing automation systems, internal operational systems, and professional service consulting offerings.

While this is a temporary contract position, we are developing opportunities for expansion. We are looking for someone who is on the journey of deepening in alignment with their purpose, and can grow in their leadership with us. Experience in service innovation, social change, digital system configuration (primarily low-code tools stack), and the community arts education industry are huge assets! Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Service and Systems Strategy Support
  • Issues analysis
  • Strategy briefing
  • Strategic roadmap development
  • Digital systems setup, configuration and integration (eg: marketing automation software, survey software, email marketing platforms). Training support will be provided.
  • Digital product market research
  • Information management support and maintenance

Administration, Project Management and Coordination Support
  • Project management systems development
  • Stakeholder coordination and communications support (may include some editing & proofreading)
  • Stakeholder relations (will include some general community engagement support)
  • Administrative support (email communications, organizing, sorting and tracking information and research data). Other tasks may be assigned

  • General digital literacy – comfort learning and using digital business tools (eg: operations management, CRM, project management etc.)
  • Experience and knowledge around the Community Arts Education Industry is an asset
  • Ability to problem solve creatively in high pressure situations
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, paying close attention to detail and bearing independent responsibility for quality of work
  • Ability to use tact, discretion and sound judgement when dealing with confidential information
  • Proficiency in standard knowledge tools such as Microsoft office, google drive
