Director of Programs
Barnabe Geis is the Director of Programs at the Centre for Social Innovation where he designs and runs programs that grow startups and organizations with a social and/or environmental purpose. He leads CSI’s Climate Ventures – an incubator, coworking space, and a range of national accelerators that support entrepreneurs and innovators working on climate solutions – and has raised millions in funding for climate action programs. He is an Ariane de Rothschild Fellow, and was recognized as one of 50 emerging changemakers and leaders by the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business magazine in 2021. He holds a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University.
Once an avid traveller, he was a fledgling social entrepreneur in the Middle East, where he also backpacked over land through the Palestinian Territories, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iraq and Iran. These days, travelling mostly consists of hikes with baby Arjun on his back. When not working, you’ll often find him somewhere in nature, perhaps freediving in a lake.
